Is FAX a real bank?+
FAX is not a bank, but rather a technology company that works with licensed institutions for fiat/crypto conversions, stablecoin swaps, payments and other services using blockchain as the underlying technology.
What countries are supported at launch?+
FAX is live in more than 100 countries for ramp access to USDC and non-USD stablecoin swaps with it. Brazil has BRL ramp and stablecoin spend enabled with Pix. Notify us which stablecoins you want next.
What are the fees?+
There are no monthly account fees and minimal fees to convert from fiat to stablecoins, with no spread. Swap fees for stablecoins, (foreign exchange transactions), will be less than 1% total.
How is FAX different from Coinbase or Revolut?+
Coinbase is a trusted crypto exchange. FAX uses Coinbase's onramp services for USDC access in countries that we don't have a local ramp. Revolut has a ramp service as well that FAX will use. Neither have a focus on FX.
Do I need to know about crypto to use FAX?+
Crypto knowledge isn't necessary to use FAX as a tool for USDC access, payments, or basic FX swaps. Knowledge of the FX and P2P markets would be helpful to participate in arbitrage opportunities.
When does FAX launch?+
Great news, FAX is live now! FAX is the evolution of Emigro, which was launched in July of 2025. All of the consumer payment features of Emigro have been brought into FAX, but now with more FX focus and features.
